Self-Reflective-Journal: Week Three: 1/08/24
In week three on Wednesday I started my mouth Faceware Analyzer. I had a couple of problems with the mouth markers deviating from the marked points on the lips. I noted all the keyframes I would need and decided to mark them and focus on spending most of my time on the mouth on Thursday cleaning up and fixing the deviating markers and getting feedback from Dr Kennedy
Thursday I got rid of some keyframes as I had too many that were confusing the setup and chose to do key poses that weren't similar to each other. Then I went back and ctrl clicked up and down (< >) the timeline to see how the markers moved to see if it smoothly shifted between keys/frames. Editing this way and zooming in more (Dr Kennedy advised) helped me be more accurate and stop the jitteriness of the movement. I had to change the eye markers to be assigned to an eyelash so that when the eye is closed it is more proportionally correct. I also got feedback from my friend Jasmine to unlock the nose as I had edited the keys with the nose on the same group causing big unwanted movement from keys being all already placed on the nose group. Fixing those locked keys helped stop the jitter and unsteadiness of the tracking which was a valuable tip.

I learnt a lot from this week. I was way more confident with using the Faceware Analyzer programme and was able to get into a rhythm of placing markers and experimenting by trial and error. I was determined to finish our assigned workload so I would be ready to retarget for week four. I was excited for what was to come and Dr Kennedy's methods in teaching and introducing more to FACS and PeCap.
